International Title: Biographical Detective
An Original Vertical Documentary-Biographical Series
Every biography holds a mystery. Every mystery leaves a trail.
Biographical Detective is an independent international series developed by DMSD, exploring unexpected twists in the lives of world cinema stars born in the Russian Empire, Soviet Russia, or the USSR who went on to achieve recognition beyond their countries of birth.
The series draws on biographical research from the international Ru KinoStarz registry. Its subjects represent different nationalities, historical periods, and cinematic traditions. What connects them is their place of birth, not their nationality.
The series is hosted by Detective Ol Right, who follows the trail of a biographical mystery in each episode, uncovering little-known circumstances, intriguing paradoxes, and unexpected connections between people and events.
Combining historical and biographical research with detective-style storytelling, the series uses contemporary digital filmmaking technologies to bring remarkable lives into focus.
Follow the detective.
History may not be quite what you thought it was.
Biographical Detective — a series where the next revelation is never predictable.
